Hunting Tournament Rules
- BENEFIT OBJECTIVE: All game donated during the benefit will be given to The Salvation Army
- PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY: Participation is open to anyone 18 years or older. Minors are eligible to
participate with a parent or legal guardian signature on the entry/waiver form. A completed entry form/waiver, and
all entry fees must be received before you are eligible to enter the benefit.
- ENTRY FEES: Competitive Divison: $50 plus 10 canned goods or $60 w/o canned goodsOpen Division: 10 canned goods
- TEAMS: Teams consist of 2 hunters. All members of a team must be registered to compete.
- REGISTRATION: 7:00pm – 8:00pm Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Anderson Building,
Fairgrounds, Emporia, Kansas. You do not have to be at the meeting, but it is strongly recommended.
All team entry forms and payment must be received no later than Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 8:00pm.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid hunting license and permits according to State and Federal regulations.
- All State and Federal regulations, including, but not limited to; shooting light, possession limit, permission,
animal identification, and proper hunting etiquette must be followed at all times.
- Anyone caught cheating will be disqualified. Anyone breaking laws will be subject to prosecution by the
appropriate law enforcement agencies.
- Must have a fur harvesters license to check in any fur bearer except coyote.
CHECK-IN:
- Final Check-In for ALL teams will be at 12:00pm Sunday, January 9, 2011, at the fairgrounds, in Emporia
Kansas.
- All teams must provide their team cards and deer tickets, if used, at check-in. Once team cards are turned in,
your bag limits are final.
- Cleaning stations will be provided to clean game and furs.
- There will be judges at check-in evaluating quality and care of meat. All final results will be established by the
judges. Any questionable furs or inedible meat will not be accepted, nor points accounted for.
- NO frozen game or furs will be admitted into the competition. However, any meat from previous hunts will be
accepted for donations!
Upland Bird Care:
- Please clean birds if possible, if not, a cleaning area will be located at check-in
- No Frozen birds allowed, However, any meat from previous hunts will be
accepted for donations!
- Must have leg, wing or plumage for identification purposes if the bird has been breasted out.
Water Fowl:
- We will only accept Geese, ducks are not in season.
- Please clean birds if possible, if not, a cleaning area will be located at check-in.
- No frozen birds allowed, However, any meat from previous hunts will be
accepted for donations!
- Must have leg, wing or plumage for identification purposes if the bird has been breasted out.
Fur Care:
- No mangy animals allowed.
- Please do not bring in immature furbearers.
- Do not attempt to skin or clean any fur bearing animals except rabbits
Deer Care:
- All deer must be field dressed before taken to the locker for processing.
- All deer must be checked in at a KHFH participating state processor. (a list is provided in your packet)
- Deer ticket must be filled out by a processor, and signed.
- Deer tickets need to be turned in at check-in to receive points.
PENALTIES:
- For every 10 minutes late on Sunday, 20 points will be deducted from your score, up to 1 hour. After that, your team will be disqualified.
- No caged or European hunts allowed This is a form of cheating and will not be accepted.
- PROTESTS: Only participants and benefit directors have the right to file protest. Protests must be filed in writing
with a benefit director no later than 30 minutes of the final check in of benefit. Protests will be reviewed by
benefit directors and any teams found violating the rules will be immediately disqualified and the reasons for
disqualification and team names will be announced during the banquet.
- SPORTSMANSHIP AND SAFETY: Safety will be the first consideration during the 4th Annual Hunt 4 Hunger
Benefit Tournament. Participants will conduct themselves in a true sportsman like manner. Courtesy, safety and
ethics of the best behavior are the norm not the exception. Rude or insulting behavior will not be tolerated.
Please remember this is a benefit tournament to help provide assistance to those in need.
- SPIRIT OF THE RULES: It is the intention of Hunt 4 Hunger to provide a honest, sportsman-like benefit. In the
interest of good sportsmanship, contestants are reminded that the spirit of the rule will prevail. All questions,
judgements or problems during the tournament will be referred to the benefit directors. Benefit directors will have
sole authority and jurisdiction in determining the application of the Rules and Regulations. No cheating will be
allowed. If you get a ticket or are caught in an act of illegal activity DO NOT USE Hunt 4 Hunger as your
reasoning. We will not tolerate your irresponsible actions to destroy our organizations reputation. REMINDER:
THIS IS A CHARITY EVENT!!!
- CANCELLATION POLICY: In the event of dangerous weather, cancellation of all or part of the event will be at the discretion of the benefit directors. In case of cancellation, entry fees will be donated to The Salvation Army and the local food banks. There will be no make-up date.
- MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION: This benefit is unique in the fact that all game are donated to The Salvation
Army to help feed the hungry. There will be people there to help clean the game, HOWEVER YOUR EXTRA
HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
- SEMINARS: Sunday, January 9, 2011 from 12:00pm - 4:00 pm
We will be hosting a variety of seminars dealing with hunting/outdoors. Among these will be: duck/goose calling,
predator calling, and trapping/furs. Along with these seminars we will also be hosting activities for kids. Among
these activities will be; BB gun shooting, archery shooting, duck/goose calling contests, and much more.
- BANQUET: The 4th Annual Hunt 4 Hunger banquet will take place at 5:30pm on Sunday January 9, 2011, at the
Anderson Building, Fairgrounds, Emporia, Kansas. The banquet will consist of a dinner, raffles, auction, and
prizes.. Hunters and their immediate families can enter the banquet at no cost.
